What a Difference a Mountain Range Makes

So last year summer in the Pacific Northwest was crap!

I mean it seriously sucked!

We MIGHT have got two weeks of okay weather in August, but that could be a stretch.  I was losing my mind with all the “when will summer get here mommy?” questions.

Us Pacific Northwesterners tolerate the rainy fall, winter, and mostly spring seasons to get to what we all think is the most glorious weather in the world during the summer months.  Yeah…last year it didn’t happen.

So when it looked like we were heading down the path of another rainy horribly cold summer.  When most of the days in June so far looked like this:

We are fortunate to live in a state where a short 3 hour drive over the mountains can land you in almost a completely different world.  Dry and warm, but still beautiful.  And our favorite place to go on the other side of the state is at a lake!  WIN…WIN…WIN…WIN!!

So that’s where we are now.  So we can get this

And see the gorgeous blue sky like this

And okay, have some more of this

What???  It IS summer after all!!

Three boys around each other, all day...every single flipping day?  Yeah....wine is a necessity for summer!

How have you been enjoying your summer so far?  How has the weather been in your neck of the woods?

I think it would be great to live somewhere where it rains all the time...for a little while. But I mean, if you can drive over the mountains to wine country...seems like you've got a pretty sweet deal!

Thanks for linking up!

That's one thing I love about KS...the seasons! If you don't like the weather, wait a couple if days and it will be completely different. I'm glad you got to get away and enjoy the summer (and wine)!
Thanks for linking up with us!

Wow, that picture with the mountains and wine glass - perfect. I can totally picture myself there ;) We live about three hours east of the Pacific Ocean, just a little further North - in Canada. Our summers are pretty much what's on your picture - and I love it!

We have horribly hot yucky summers here. No mountains. Nothing that pretty. But yes, kids all over each other 24-7 that requires a little wine.

MamaMash,

It is a great way to get the best of both worlds thats for sure. Up until this year we were only able to get to the lake one week out of the year. It just wasn't enough. Thankfully we don't have to worry about it again!! LOVE #iPPP!

Greta,

We have seasons, but they can be short. Fall is wind and rain. Winter is cold and rain, and spring is well rain and rain. See a pattern?? LOL!!

SOOO happy to have a place to go where it is warmer and it has great wineries to boot! I'm a happy happy momma!

Ali,

I don't know why I forget that when summer vacation starts the wine consumption increases! Oh well, this view, and some wine will help me tolerate the bickering a little bit better! ;)

ME TOO! If I don't get some natural vitamin D I tend to get rather crabby!!

Good day! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site?

I'm getting sick and tired of Wordpress because I've had issues
with hackers and I'm looking at options for another platform. I
would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good
platform.
