It has been a rather tough and draining week here on the
testosterone sea.
There has been a TON of things on the “to-do” list. Enough to make this mommy’s
head spin.
1) Even if things are rough, sometimes all it
takes is a little thing to help you make it through.
2) Like
a smile, kiss or a snuggling session with Buggy.
3) Or
an “I love you the mostest because you are my mommy and the bestest mommy EVER”
from Sweet Pea
4) Sunshine
in Fall goes a long way to help my mood.
5) Or
a shoulder rub given by my husband.
6) A
empty house for a whole hour while my husband takes Big T to soccer practice
and offers to take all the boys with him to give me a bit of peace and
quiet…ahhhh.
7) Or
a nature walk with the boys after school.
8) Having
my Starbucks coffee in my hand before 10am helps to move the day in a positive
direction.
9) So
does a phone call with a girlfriend where we can praise each other for our
accomplishments or commiserate with each other over our frustrations.
10) Or when my mom calls out of the blue and
invites me down to watch a “chick flick” and have dinner and wine with her. Then everything seems more manageable
somehow.
What little things
help you get through a rough day/week?

Moms are great aren't they? Even at 31, there ar times that I just really need my mom. I hope my kids feel like that when they get older.
All wonderful "little things" - for me, as sad as it sounds, all it takes is something small like a long (uninterupted) shower before bed to get me through a crazy busy day!
Basically a little 'me' time is essential to keeping sane, right? :)
It's definitely the little things, but it's the awesome people in our lives that get us through!
Sounds like you've got a lot of things to help pull you through after a tough week. Hope that next week is much easier!
Having awesome people in our lives is definitely helpful! A little me time goes a long way in mommyhood. I think I'm going to convince my husband of the same thing. ;)
This is going to sound crazy BUT... Checking things off my to-do list goes A LONG way for me towards making me feel accomplished and allowing me to feel more comfortable with my day. It is one of the reasons I get up very early every morning - so that much of my daily to-do list can be taken care of before the kids even get up and I can focus more on them.
When my duo was little a group of 4 mommy friends would meet once a week for coffee. We would vent and answer each other's questions and basically, just support each other. I credit those ladies with my sanity!
Krista,
Yes moms ARE great!! I feel very fortunate to be so close to mine. There are MANY times that I still need my mom. So glad she is there!
Bits of Bees,
A long shower without the little ones banging on the door or barging in goes a LONG way to reset the day!
Alison,
Exactly right!
MamaMash,
I agree 100%! Most of these little things wouldn't happen without the people in my life.
Kimberly,
I think you should! It helps a TON!! And you deserve it!
Kate,
Not crazy at all! I'm the same way. The only problem has been that lately I haven't been able to find any time to tackle the list. *sigh* One day I will...one day!
Eat. Live. Laugh
I'm so glad you had that outlet. It makes a huge difference doesn't it??
I am waiting for a few minutes in a quiet house this weekend. Hasn't happened yet but I have a few hours of weekend left.
Making sure you get enough sleep can make all the difference during a rough week!
Yes, those little things help so much. I also like the fall sunshine. And music often gets me moving when I just don't feel like it.
I cling to the little things. CLING for dear life in the fall. Since PPD and now bipolar, fall triggers nasty memories. What I do to help me get through is to schedule one thing that I like to do each day.
That could be coffee.
Or read a book.
Or go for a walk, scrapbook, tv...etc...
anything that brings a smile to my face. It's so important to schedule time to ourselves!
I hope this week is better for you.
PS. Hugs and snuggles and kisses always make me feel better too ;)
You are so right! All of these and more can help turn a bad day/week around! :)
It's hard to be down with those spontaneous I love you's from the kiddos.
Jessica,
I hope you got a few minutes of quiet this weekend. Sometimes that's all we need to help us get the following week off on the right foot.
Kristy,

Grumpy Grateful Mom,

Kimberly,
I love that you do one thing for yourself each day! I think that is a brilliant idea and my have to adopt it myself!
Hugs and snuggles and kisses go a long way to help put a smile on my face.
Bridget,
I hope you were able to do some of the little things for yourself this weekend after the week you had. (HUGS)

My little things? An unexpected hug from my toddler, an I love you from my hubs, and a nice cup of tea or decaf coffee at the end of the day!
I needed number 9 yesterday and not one but two lovely friends, thankfully indulged me.
