Sunday Sweetness ~ A Normal Day

For the last few weeks we’ve been living in chaos.

There have been water damage repair companies, plumbers, insurance adjusters, contractors, contractors, more insurance adjusters, and did I mention contractors? in our house.

There have been fans, dehumidifiers, and plastic containment barriers up in our home.

There is no immediate end to the chaos in the near future.  We need to get used to this being a way of life for the next few months.

But last Friday?

Friday was the first day in over 2 weeks where we didn’t have some stranger come into our home to look at something, or test something, or do something, or quote something.

No, Friday we woke up had breakfast, and ran errands just like any normal day.  I got to play with my two younger boys.  Buggy was calm and not scared and clingy like he had been for the last two weeks because of the sheer volume of strangers in our home.

I got to put Buggy down for a nap.  ON TIME!  And he slept so well.

I got to rock with Sweet Pea, read him a few books and then let him have quiet time while I went downstairs and sat in the silence of the house.

By the time Big T got home from school everyone was up and rested and ready to have some fun.

It was a typical normal day, and I LOVED every minute of it.

I will think back and remember that day whenever I feel myself feeling antsy because I need to be “doing something” other than they typical normal day-to-day stuff.

Because sometimes a normal day is just what the doctor ordered.

Do you find pleasure in your normal day?

Kate,

I never realized how much I value a normal day!

Our house is at a standstill, the repair work hasn't even started yet. It will get there though, just is going to take some time!

Sounds like a perfect day to me! :) I love days like that. But it would be a nap for me when the kids are at school! :) teehee!

In my current state, a nice normal day is what my soul is craving right now.

sometimes it takes crazy chaos to realize just how awesome normal is!

I know how you feel with the people in and out of your house fixing things and quoting crazy amounts of money you don't have. In the time span of about 3 months we had our water heater explode, the dryer died and my freezer stopped working. It was not a fun time at my house.

I'm so glad you got to enjoy a normal everyday kind of day. Those are the best!

beautifulspitup,

It was so nice. This week we were right back into people coming in and out and in and out and no work has been done yet. This is just the bidding part. It's going to be a long month. Hopefully I will be able to squeeze a normal day or two in from time to time!
